Message as others have said, stay well away from Sony, I've got a unit that came with the car and it sucks... tons of features and settings but sound quality doesnt come near my cheaper pioneer unit I used to have, and the CD player is rubbish, skips all the time, utter crap for a unit that cost a lot when it was new.

as others have said also, do some research on some car audio forums/sites, go play around with different units, dont just take others advice, especially not the person selling the gear to you.

whitepearlz's suggestion of a unit with time delay sounds interesting, im not sure but i think my sony does that, never tried it but it could produce some great sound if set well...

dont forget to measure up the depth you have to play with, including the wiring harnes/RCAs hanging out the back, some units are shorter/longer than others and this can be a real pain when it comes to fitment... also the way the face plate/shroud thing sits when installed... i know my sony didnt have one because it wouldnt fit on the Z... made it look a bit crud really...

sometimes its easier to just say 'bugger it' and go buy something and chuck it in, but in a couple of months, if not sooner, down the track you will regret it, trust me on that one. spend the time and effort now to get a great unit and you will enjoy it for many years to come.

are you going single DIN slot or double with a pocket underneath? single is probably all you need but i think double DIN units have stackers built in, not sure what others views are on those??

are you going to run amps or just speakers straight off the head unit?

hope that helps a little anyways :D
